Go get these fly Chinese kids sneakers now on 8th Avenue in Brooklyn. These Nike Dunk-Lo bootlegs are called “Bitelongs”.
On the bottom sole they have a weird silhouette of that 90’s advertising character, Fido Dido, snowboarding apparently.
I couldn’t find the exact image they ripped off but here’s a sketch that’s pretty close, done on old cel animation pegs.
These work in a sort of double Spongebob — a Spongebob “Eyes” velcro strap with a spongebob face, with another set of Spongebob eyes.
Girl’s style with the toes sort of worked into the front.
Dog guy with the same eye-velcro as the Spongebob joints. These are sort of done right, compared.
Clean Nike Cortez is called the “zhongwei”.
Fake suede shoe with a Sesame Street style caterpillar on the velcro strap.
That’s a Nike Cortez style sole, by the way.
I’ve been hanging out with the sneakers when the Apartment gang go to sleep. You can really pour your heart out to this bunch. They’re really understanding. What am I going to do, bother my good friends with my selfish nonsense? I already tried that and it hasn’t worked.
I told the sneakers all about that British ghost that upstages me, how I’m scared of the washing machine and the darkest secret of them all… HA! You didn’t think I was going to reveal my deepest hang up on the internet for free, did you?!? If you’re interested, you can send me a PayPal payment of $50 to rubbishjamesgarbagetruck@gmail.com and you’ll receive a printout of my problems, a pair of Frankie’s socks from 4 years ago and some bonus gossip about the cheapskate landlord.
I sent $100.00, please send change.
Frankie, you don’t think it’s a little “Too Soon” for that joke about the caterpillar sneaker?
Interestingly enough, those “knock-off” sneakers are made at the same factory and same assembly line as the real Sneakers that they are copying.
You can buy them in the bundle bins in the front of ABC Wonder Stores right by the Air Jumps.
